Algol Labs
Algol Labs is the engineering vehicle of Zaid Amireh, a Principal Solution Architect and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience building systems that survive.
// When You Work With Us, You Work With Me
Let me be direct: Algol Labs is a solo practice. When you hire us, you get me — not a junior assigned to your project while seniors handle "strategic accounts."
I don't hand off projects. I don't disappear after the kickoff call. For larger engagements, I bring in trusted specialists from my network — but I remain the technical lead and your primary contact throughout.
This is a feature, not a limitation. You get Principal-level expertise without the overhead of an agency.
// The Story
From managing racks of Linux servers in Jordan in 2004 to architecting cloud-native platforms for Goldman Sachs in the Netherlands today, the journey has always been about one thing: Mastering Complexity.
Why I Started Algol Labs
After years of building infrastructure at scale — from startups to supercomputers — I noticed a pattern: companies either have access to expensive enterprise consultancies that move slowly, or they hire contractors who lack the context to solve systemic problems.
Algol Labs exists in the gap.
We bring Principal-level expertise with startup speed. I started this studio because I wanted to do the work I love — solving hard infrastructure problems — without the overhead of enterprise bureaucracy or the limitations of being one cog in a large machine.
// The Problems I Love Solving
Not every project excites me equally. Here's what gets me out of bed:
"It's too slow and we don't know why"
Performance problems that require deep system understanding — not just throwing hardware at it.
"We need to migrate but we're scared to break it"
Complex migrations from legacy systems to modern infrastructure. Zero-downtime transitions.
"Our AI works in notebooks but not in production"
Bridging the gap between data science experiments and production-grade AI systems.
"Our cloud bill is out of control"
Cost optimization through architectural improvements — not just turning off instances.
"Nobody understands how this works anymore"
Systems archaeology. Documenting and stabilizing critical infrastructure that's held together by tribal knowledge.
"Our developers spend more time fighting the setup than writing code"
Local development environments that actually work. We make "it works on my machine" a thing of the past.

Askademia
Founder
Created an AI knowledge platform that transforms static documents into interactive learning experiences.
// My Values
Proven Technology
We prefer proven, stable tools over the latest hype. We innovate on the product, not the pipeline.
Documentation as Code
If it isn't documented, it doesn't exist. We hand over systems that your junior engineers can run.
Zero Magic
We build systems that are transparent, observable, and debuggable.
